Shoe Care

Follow our shoe care guide to learn more about your new shoes and how to take care of them so they get even better with wear. After all, great shoes deserve great care.
01.

Prepare Shoes

Remove laces to and insert a shoe tree—you want the leather surfaces to be smooth and crease-free. Use a soft brush to gently remove surface dirt and dust, ensuring the shoes are free of loose debris before deeper cleaning.

02.

Clean

Wipe down your shoes with a damp cloth. For a deeper clean, apply a leather cleaner and gently work it into the surface in circular motions using a soft cloth such as a bandana.

03.

Condition

Apply a leather conditioner with a clean cloth to keep the leather soft and supple. Let it absorb for at least 15 minutes.

04.

Polish

After letting the leather conditioner sit, use a soft brush or cloth to buff the shoes and bring out the shine.

05.

Protect

For added protection, apply a thin layer of wax or cream to the shoes, which helps safeguard the leather against water and stains. In wet weather, using a product like Huberd’s Shoe Grease provides enhanced waterproofing.

06.

Proper Storage

To maintain the shape of your shoes and absorb any excess moisture, insert cedar shoe trees. When storing your shoes, keep them in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use our provided dust bags to protect your shoes from dust and potential damage.
